Responsible Pet Education Program

On Monday 23rd February 2015 we had Melissa visit the centre Kinder room with her dog named “Destiny”. The aim of this program is to educate pre-school children about how to live safely with dogs. Through an interactive workshop that included words, music, visual aids, physical safety practices and hands on experience with Destiny. The children learned about;

  • The correct way to approach a dog
  • What to do if approached by an angry dog
  • The warning signs that dogs give us
  • Behaviours and activities that should be avoided
  • The body language from dogs and plenty more!
